PuSh International Performing Arts Festival presents Eye Of Newt's The Passion of Joan of Arc
Thursday January 28, 2010
With the haunting face of actress Renée Falconetti playing the doomed Joan of Arc as inspiration, the Eye of Newt Ensemble will perform a newly commissioned score to accompany Carl Dreyer’s 1928 silent film masterpiece on France’s most famous martyr. The epic new score for large ensemble, composed by Stefan Smulovitz, weaves music, voice and Christ Church Cathedral’s pipe organ in a moving tribute to one of film’s most enduring performances.
Composed by Stefan Smulovitz with text by Colin Browne
