Chutzpah! Festival 2010 presents Aszure Barton & Artists
Norman Rothstein Theatre Aszure Barton returns this time with her full company of 9 dancers in a full evening repertoire show. The company will have just finished a European tour and performances at the Suzanne Dellel Centre in Tel Aviv. In 2010 Aszure Barton will be creating new pieces for the American Ballet Theatre and the National Ballet of Canada. Thrillingly unpredictable! From her wildly eclectic musical choices (ranging from French Canadian folk, to Vivaldi, to Klezmer) to the casual and conversational tone of her original, funky dance vocabulary – Aszure Barton’s choreography is hard to categorize. With elements of jazz dance and ballet, Baryshnikov has compared it to the work of a young Mark Morris.
