Chutzpah! PLUS at the NRT Proudly Presents ASZURE BARTON & ARTISTS in Awáa: PROJECT XII
This powerful evening of dance from world renown Canadian choreographer Aszure Barton, promises to draw audiences into a world that is spellbinding, exciting, percussive, at times funny and sad, and hauntingly beautiful – Awáa is rife with Barton’s rhythmic heart!

Project XII considers the hard and the soft, the curved and the sharp memories of the feminine.
Project XII floods with Barton’s emotional and sensual complexity. The work is performed by seven internationally acclaimed dancers Jonathan Emanuell Alsberry, Lara Barclay, William Briscoe, Tobin Del Cuore, Benjamin Kamino, Andrew Murdock, and Davon Rainey and features an original score by Lev ‘Ljova’ Zhurbin and and Curtis Macdonald; lighting design by Burke Brown and costumes by Linda Chow.

Aszure Barton was born and raised in Canada and has collaborated with and created works for Mikhail Baryshnikov, Hell’s Kitchen Dance, The National Ballet of Canada, Nederlands Dans Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Sydney Dance Company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Martha Graham Dance Company, Les Chiche Capon, The Juilliard School, Ballet BC, The Chutzpah! Festival and BJM: Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal
